Weapon XOX

The "Goldilocks" Sweet Spot. Exclusively for the Nexus Weapon XoX Profile.

    Every now and then, a piece of gear is born strictly out of frustration with the status quo. The XoX Special Calibration is exactly that. It is my personal daily driver and the definitive answer to a mechanical middle-ground that didn't exist for me anywhere else in the guitar world.

⚡ THE OVERLOOKED MIDDLE GROUND

    When mapping out the core Nu-D lineup, I hit a personal bottleneck. When tracking heavy, high-velocity music, the rigid XXX  core can sometimes feel a bit too stiff for some riffs. But dropping down to the more compliant XX on the Nexus profile would occasionally feel just a bit too light when I wanted maximum resistance against a heavy string gauge.

    Usually, that compromise meant I'd have to switch shapes entirely and grab an Apex XX to compensate. I wanted a tool that bridged that exact gap without swapping profiles.

    A while back, I prototyped an entire "O-series" matrix of intermediate gauges designed to sit precisely between our standard tiers using an "O" identifier. While I ultimately streamlined the catalog to keep things clean for players, this specific configuration—the XoX—was simply too good to leave on the cutting room floor. It is my absolute "Goldilocks" gauge.

🔬 PERFORMANCE SPECS

    By taking a full Nexus high-mass core and custom-tuning the internal layout, the XoX gives you the best of both worlds. You get the massive acoustic volume, deep low-end chunk, and rich harmonic response of a heavy pick, but with an altered internal flex dynamic that feels fluid, fast, and agile. It refuses to choke out under aggressive tracking, but it won’t fatigue your hand during long sessions.

• Core Thickness: Specialized intermediate calibration (sitting perfectly between our XX and XXX).

• Aesthetics: This is the first and so far only Nu-D to feature what I call our “BlackTop” color profile. The front logo is colored black, while the back logo is colored red to signify the material as AuraFlex (AF).

🪐 THE CODE BEHIND THE "O"

    Like every tool in the Nu-D ecosystem, the nomenclature carries a second, hidden configuration meaning. While the "O" technically represents the intermediate lab-gauge testing phase on the workbench, it also serves as our workshop’s signature.

The "O" stands for exactly what you think it does: XOXO. Consider it a little hugs and kisses from our shop bench to you.

⚠️ WORKSHOP CARE NOTE

    Just like our standard lineup, the XOX is a high-density, bone-like resin tool. It is engineered to flex beautifully against a moving guitar string, but it will not tolerate manual hand-bending. Please don't bend it between your fingers to test the flex or it will snap. Keep the testing on the strings where it belongs.
